Metro Manila Toastmasters Club (MMTC) had an enjoyable and learning-filled meeting last August 11, 2008 at the Sulo Hotel, with more than 30 attendees and two resource speakers who are considered as “pillars” of Philippine Toastmasters. The husband-and-wife duo of Brooks and Dinah Loomis, both Distinguished Toastmasters and Past District Governors, were the special guests of MMTMC, with DTM Brooks performing the role of a General Evaluator and DTM Dinah as Educational Speaker. Toastmaster Joy Gatdula, CC, MMTMC President, was quite busy welcoming all the attendees that evening, which were composed of its regular club members, Toastmasters from other clubs and other guests.

DTM Dinah Loomis regaled the audience with her lively and interesting talk (perfectly timed, too!) about preparing an effective speech – something on which she is quite an expert, having had over 30 years of Toastmasters’ experience.
